We use it for its durability, nonstick and stain-resistant properties, and hard-wearing nature &#x2014; it also cools quickly and tolerates temperature extremes, and its long usable life reduces the need for single-use plastics.A quick note on certifications: we only make a certification or premium-grade claim (like LFGB, FDA, or platinum-cured) when it&apos;s actually been confirmed for that specific product &#x2014; you&apos;ll see it stated on the product&apos;s own listing. If a listing doesn&apos;t mention a particular certification, it&apos;s best to check with us directly rather than assume either way, since it just means that one hasn&apos;t been verified for that item yet, not that it&apos;s automatically included or excluded.Many of our silicone products and components are LFGB and FDA certified, and comply with Australian Standard AS2070:1999 &#x2014; check the specific product&apos;s listing to confirm this for the item you&apos;re after.Not all silicone is graded the same way, either &#x2014; much like there are different grades of plastic, silicone itself varies in purity and curing method. Platinum-cured silicone is a premium grade, valued for its durability, heat and wear resistance, and reduced tendency to retain odours compared to other curing methods. We can confirm our <a href="https://seedsprout.com.au/products/ultimate-freezer-mould-set" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Silicone Freezer Trays/Moulds</a> and <a href="https://seedsprout.com.au/products/reusable-stretch-lids" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Reusable Stretch Lids</a> are made from platinum-cured silicone. We&apos;re currently reviewing the rest of our silicone range individually, and we&apos;ll only make this claim once it&apos;s genuinely verified for each product.Have Seed &amp; Sprout silicone items that can no longer be used?To help you recycle our silicone products, we&apos;ve launched our Silicone Take-Back Program in partnership with TerraCycle, for when reusing isn&apos;t an option.&#xA0;<a href="https://seedsprout.com.au/pages/silicone-take-back-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style=" text-decoration: none;">You can read about our silicone take-back program here</a>Please note that as of this time, we are only able to recycle our products as we cannot verify the composition of other brand&apos;s products. Since they are made differently, the facility that we&apos;re using may not be able to recycle other products properly.
