Our Bars range — shampoo, conditioner, and more — is made from naturally-derived ingredients, free from parabens, sulfates, and harsh chemicals.

Using your bars

If you're transitioning from a conventional liquid conditioner, the Conditioner Bar can take a little adjustment — that's completely normal, and worth persevering through. After rinsing out the Shampoo, make sure your hair is still sufficiently wet, since the Conditioner Bar is heavily water-activated; warmer water helps soften it further. For the first few uses, try rubbing the bar between your hands under warm water until you feel what we call "the slip factor" before running it through your hair. A Shampoo Bar's lifespan depends on how often you wash and how long your hair is, but as a rough guide, one bar is roughly equivalent to 3.5 x 350ml bottles of liquid shampoo — typically lasting 3–9 months. Once a bar gets too small to hold comfortably, our Soap Saver Bag lets you keep using every last bit rather than losing it.

Our bars won't strip hair colour, since they're made from naturally-derived ingredients — we'd still recommend the standard 72-hour rule of not washing coloured hair immediately after dyeing.

Ingredients and certifications

Every bar's full ingredient list is available on its individual product page, and our Ingredients Glossary explains what each ingredient is and why it's there — that's the best place to check a specific formulation rather than relying on a general summary here. We can't currently guarantee our products haven't come into contact with gluten during production, so we're not able to call them gluten-free at this stage.

Our bars are 100% palm oil free — that's a formulation commitment that hasn't changed. This was previously independently certified by the Orangutan Alliance; as of May 2026, that organisation has ceased trading, so this claim is no longer third-party certified while we work on confirming a new certification partner. You may still see the Orangutan Alliance logo on current packaging as we sell through existing stock, but the certifying body behind it is no longer operating.

Travel and lifestyle

Bars are genuinely travel-friendly — they're grey water and septic system safe, which makes them a favourite for anyone travelling in a car or van. No spill risk, and nothing extra to carry.
