How do I get the best from the Conditioner Bar?
If you're switching from liquid conditioner, the Conditioner Bar can take some getting used to. That's normal and worth sticking with.
- After rinsing out your shampoo, keep your hair wet. The bar is activated by water, and warmer water softens it more.
- For the first few uses, rub the bar between your hands under warm water until you feel the "slip", then run it through your hair.

How long does a Shampoo Bar last?
It depends on how often you wash and how long your hair is. As a guide, one bar equals about 3.5 bottles (350ml) of liquid shampoo and lasts 3 to 9 months. When it gets too small to hold, pop it in a Soap Saver Bag to use every last bit.
Will the bars strip my hair colour?
No. They're made from naturally derived ingredients. We still recommend the usual 72-hour wait before washing freshly dyed hair.
What's in the bars? Are they gluten-free?
Each bar's full ingredient list is on its product page, and our Ingredients Glossary explains what each ingredient does. We can't guarantee our bars haven't come into contact with gluten during production, so we can't call them gluten-free.
Are the bars palm oil free?
Our bars are 100% palm oil free — that's a formulation commitment that hasn't changed. This was previously independently certified by the Orangutan Alliance; as of May 2026, that organisation has ceased trading, so this claim is no longer third-party certified while we work on confirming a new certification partner. You may still see the Orangutan Alliance logo on current packaging as we sell through existing stock, but the certifying body behind it is no longer operating.
Are the bars good for travel?
Yes. They're grey water and septic safe, so they're popular for car and van travel. No spills, and nothing extra to carry.
